But they are just part of a team of people who take on leadership roles within the church, in many areas like youth and children’s work, administration, health and safety, child and vulnerable adult protection, and ongoing maintenance of the buildings.
As well as the minister we also have lay preachers who share in the preaching of God’s word and leading the church in worship.
The important thing for us all is to share God’s love with others. John 3:16 tells us.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
This means becoming a Christian is not about following rules but believing that when Jesus died and rose from death he dealt with the sins of the world. That means we can be free of the wrongs we have done and the wrongs done to us. Jesus’ perfect life and sacrifice deals with our imperfection, so we can now communicate with God. God sends his Holy Spirit to guide us in a new way of life, following him.
We try to show God’s love by serving Him in all the things we do.
